Establishment of Occupational Health and Safety Management System at All Sites
Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials established an advanced occupational health and safety management system at all its sites by obtaining the Occupational Health & Safety Management System Certification (KOSHA/OHSAS18001) for the Jeungpyeong, Gimcheon, and Iksan plants on July 5, 2013. This followed the OHSAS18001 certification of the Changshu plant in China in May. Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials will protect the health and safety of its employees by conducting efficient and systematic EHS management in order to fulfill its social responsibilities.
Opening Ceremony for the ERP System of Overseas Subsidiaries
Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials (DSE) held the opening ceremony for its new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System for Overseas Subsidiaries on February 25. The establishment of the new ERP, which is based on the Doosan ERP standard, laid the foundations for the advancement of working methods by integrating and standardizing the tasks and data of six overseas subsidiaries (DSE in Changshu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and the Information & Communication BU in Beijing).
Doosan Corporation Mottrol and Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials Establish Their First Overseas Production Bases in China
Doosan established the first overseas production bases of Mottrol and Electro-Materials in Jiangsu, China – the Jiangyin plant for Mottrol and the Changshu plant for Electro-Materials. The Changshu plant manufactures CCL (Copper Clad Laminate), a core material for electronic products. Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials will focus on improving competitiveness by enhancing its service and quality, while fulfilling its social responsibility by carrying out customized community activities based on Doosan’s unique philosophy.

Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials Secures Production Base in China
Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials (DSE) acquired the Changshu China Subsidiary of Huawei Taiwan, a manufacturer of CCL (Copper Clad Laminate). Although DSE has already secured the world’s highest product competitiveness in the high-end CCL markets, it is seeking to secure an efficient local response system in the Chinese market, which accounts for more than 40% of the global demand for CCL. With the successful acquisition of a production base in China, DSE will do its utmost to step up to the title of being the top global player.
Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials Gives Presentation at Electronic Circuit World Convention 11
At the ECWC 11 (Electronic Circuit World Convention 11), held under the theme of ‘The Environment and Innovative Technological Challenges’, some 120 research papers on electronic parts and materials were presented to over 1,000 guests. Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials gave a presentation on the materials technology in halogen-free packages and received many inquiries from major Set/PCB vendors, once again raising the company’s prestige.
Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials Develops FCCL for Ultra-Slim Cellphones
The new FCCL (Model No. DSflex-600 121112200 RP 500) is a slim, sliding component that connects the screen and main body of a cellular phone, which requires excellent flexural endurance. Although it is ultra-slim, FCCL has a high degree of pliability and flexibility, enabling it to endure external shocks from connecting parts and friction within a narrow space of less than one millimeter. With the application of this new FCCL, Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials is now in possession of the key technology for ‘the world’s slimmest cell phone’.
Doosan Intensively Nurtures the Electronic Materials Industry
A completion ceremony was held in Iksan on December 13 for the manufacturing plant of FCCL (Flexible Copper Clad Laminates), a key raw material of FPCBs (Flexible Printed Circuit Boards). With the completion of the plant, Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials became the first company to produce two-layer FCCLs in Korea. The two-layer FCCL obtained the approval of UL (Underwriters Laboratories), the world’s largest electronic industrial standard, for the first time in Korea last month. In addition, Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials aims to post total revenues of one trillion won in 2008 (twice its current revenue) by expanding to new businesses related to such materials as AGSP, HCCL, and OLED.
