The Chungbuk Regional Office of Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) announced on July 7 that the Jeungpyeong plant of Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials had acquired the KOSHA 18001 certificate.
The KOSHA 18001 certificate is designed to prove that its recipients have fulfilled the agency’s requirements concerning their self-initiated implementation of a safety and health management system. Since KOSHA follows the ISO system, certification signifies that the integration of quality and environmental management systems is possible.
The Jeungpyeong plant was awarded the KOSHA 18001 certificate and a commemorative plaque by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) on July 4.
“KOSHA 18001 certification is instrumental to the effective promotion of health and safety in workplaces. It not only reduces accidents and productivity losses, but also leads to improvements in productivity and working conditions,” said Jongil Na, director of the Chungbuk Branch of KOSHA. “I am hopeful that each and every one of the certified companies will continue its path towards fundamental prevention of industrial accidents through the adoption of effective health and safety promotion programs.”
