Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials Gimcheon Plant's social contribution activity, the Dreaming Study Room
Doosan Corporation Electro-Material Gimcheon plant conducted a corporate social contribution activity the ‘Dreaming Study Room’ with its local community on April 13th.
The ‘Dreaming Study Room’ is the factory’s social contribution program, launched this April, which aims to provide a comfortable learning environment for children from low-income families, who study in tough studying environment. Doosan with local community childcare center selected beneficiary children and created a pleasant study environment by changing exterior and interior of their study facility and donating desks and clothes.
A child who received the new study space said, “I am so happy that I have a wonderful study room. I will study hard and grow up as a person who can help and reward it to other children.” Bae Si-hwan, plant manager of Gimcheon plant, said, “we will continue to collaborate with local communities and find ways to help children grow in good environment.
Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials has participated in a variety of social contribution activities such as ‘Didim Seed Bankbook’, a financial support for grown-up children who have to move out from childcare facilities and fundraising program for single mothers to financially stand on their own feet. In addition, the company has been carrying out many social contribution programs in each site of office and plants in Korea.
Major activities include sending carnation and commemorative gift to the elderly from low-income families (Doosan Tower), food and air conditioner donation to people with disability (Suji Tech Institute), support for free meal and rice for neighbors who are in need (Jeungpyeong plant), and donations to disabled facilities (Iksan plant).
