On July 27, sixteen local teenagers and employees from the Jeungpyeong plant attended a BBQ party at the auditorium of the Senior Citizens’ Welfare Center in Jeungpyeong-gun, Chungbuk.

As the first event of the ‘Dreams and Hope Sharing Project’, a group of employees of Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials (DSE) prepared the BBQ party as a surprise event to break the ice with a group of local teenagers with whom they will be working in a mentor-mentee relationship.

The local government, the Senior Citizens’ Welfare center, and DSE prepared the event to extend a helping hand to children in need.

DSE presented gifts to the children to commemorate their first meeting, and will continue to provide support in various activities.

The company will donate 1 million won every month to help the children materially while the welfare center will run the program and the local government will take charge of case management.

In addition, the meetings between mentors and mentees will be continued to help encourage children and teenagers to maintain their emotional stability and to think positively about society.

The joint project involving the company, the local government, and the welfare agency is conducting multi-dimensional support activities to provide customized services through the mentor-mentee program, to continue establishing sisterhood relations, and to conduct a survey on children and teenagers.
