Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials (DSE) has set a representative example for the use of mobile BI. DSE kicked off its BI system and established its mobile office last October and May, respectively, and then stabilized the system and expanded it to its overseas subsidiaries. The company executed this project to support efficient and swift decision-making within a smart workplace environment.

DSE’s Mobile BI largely consists of the Executive Information System (EIS) and the Business Warehouse (BW). The Mobile EIS is used by key executives while the mobile BW is used by regular staff and team managers.

The mobile EIS is especially designed for iPad to ensure quick and easy access to company-wide management information anytime, anywhere.

“In order to provide customized EIS for each executive officer, a total of 50 screens from the value chain system of sales-finance-purchase-production have been implemented in the mobile EIS,” explained Sunghyun Kim, deputy general manager of the PI team, adding, “By adopting the color black as the optimal background for iPad, we have maximized the visual impact of the analyzed data.”

By establishing the mobile BI, DSE has strengthened its capacity for timely decision-making by enabling executives to check the company’s status and instruct their staff on-the-go anytime, anywhere.
